CoreMems ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Keepsake Studios LLC, a New Hampshire limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the CoreMems mobile application (the "App") and our website at mycoremems.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
We built CoreMems to help parents preserve family memories. We treat your memories with the care we would want for our own — and that includes how we handle the data behind them.
CoreMems is operated by:
For any privacy question, request, or concern, email us at support@mycoremems.com.
We collect only what we need to run the App. We do not sell your data.
created_at timestamp. On our website (mycoremems.com) we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-first service that measures aggregate traffic and collects no personally identifying information.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not use your memories — voice recordings, photos, or notes — to train artificial intelligence models, ours or anyone else's.
Your data is stored on infrastructure operated by Supabase, Inc. in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (AES-256). Voice recordings and photos are stored in private storage buckets and accessed through time-limited signed URLs. Database access is governed by row-level security, meaning your data is scoped to your account and not accessible to other users.
We do not maintain offices or servers outside the United States.
When you record a voice memory, the audio file is sent from our servers to OpenAI for automatic transcription using their Whisper speech-to-text model. The resulting transcript is stored alongside your memory so you can read it back.
We want to be transparent about this because voice recordings are personal:
Guided Capture is an optional feature. Instead of recording a memory cold, you have a short conversation with an AI interviewer — typing or speaking your answers — and it turns them into a short written story that becomes the memory. The first time you use it, a prompt asks you to opt in before the conversation begins; if you decline, the feature does not run. You can choose not to use it at any time, and you can delete any guided memory you create.
The conversation content — your typed and spoken answers, and the questions the AI asks — is sent to Anthropic (the maker of Claude) to run the conversation and generate the story. Per Anthropic's commercial API terms, these inputs and outputs are not used to train Anthropic's models. Anthropic's retention is governed by their own policy, available at privacy.claude.com.
If you speak rather than type, your spoken answers are first sent to OpenAI for transcription (Whisper). The audio is used only to produce the text and is not stored — only the resulting transcript is used.
We only work with providers that are contractually required to protect your data and not use it for their own purposes.
The conversation transcript and the generated story are saved as part of your memory in our database. Deleting a guided memory deletes its transcript and story from our systems, on the same backup-rotation timeline described in Section 8.
Connections to both providers are encrypted in transit.
We use a small number of service providers to operate CoreMems. We share data with them only as needed to provide the service.
| Service | What they do | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Hosts our database, file storage, authentication, and serverless functions | All account data, memories, voice files, photos, and analytics events |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, push notifications (APNs), and In-App Purchase | Apple ID identifier, device push token, subscription transaction data |
| OpenAI | Voice transcription via the Whisper API | Audio for voice notes and for spoken answers in Guided Capture |
| Anthropic | Powers Guided Capture conversations and generates the written story (Claude API) | The conversation content — your typed and spoken answers and the AI's questions — for guided memories you choose to create |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management (when subscriptions are active) | Anonymous subscription identifiers and entitlement status |
| Expo / EAS | Build and deployment infrastructure for the App | No user data — used only for compiling and distributing the App |
| Netlify | Hosting for mycoremems.com | Standard web server logs (IP, user agent) when you visit the Site |
We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
You own the memories you create in CoreMems. You retain all rights to your voice recordings, photos, and notes.
By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, transmit, and display your memories back to you so we can provide the service. This license exists only to operate CoreMems and ends when you delete your content or your account.
We may, in rare cases, view individual memories — for example, if you contact support with a specific question, or if we need to investigate a technical bug. We do not browse user content for any other purpose, and we do not share it with third parties beyond the service providers listed in Section 6.
You have control over your data.
When you delete a memory or your account, the data is removed from our active systems. Encrypted backup copies may persist for up to seven days before being overwritten in the normal course of backup rotation. After that period, the deleted data is no longer recoverable.
We currently operate primarily in the United States, but users in other regions may use CoreMems.
We will respond to verifiable requests within 30 days, or sooner where required by law.
CoreMems is designed for parents to preserve memories of their family life. Because of this, the App has a specific stance on data about children:
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us directly (for example, by creating an account using a falsified age), please contact us at support@mycoremems.com and we will delete that information promptly.
CoreMems may offer paid subscriptions. All payments are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not receive, store, or have access to your credit card number, bank details, or other payment instruments.
We receive only what Apple shares with us through its in-app purchase system: an anonymous transaction identifier, the subscription product purchased, and the current entitlement status. RevenueCat helps us read and manage this subscription status on our side.
Refunds for subscription purchases are handled by Apple. You can manage your subscription, view your purchase history, or request a refund at any time from your Apple ID account settings.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever become aware of a security incident that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
CoreMems is a small, independent product, and we want to be honest about that. If we ever stop operating the service, we will:
Your memories are important. If we can't keep them safe, we want to make sure you can take them with you.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the App evolves or as laws change. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the App or by email. Continued use of CoreMems after a change means you accept the updated policy.
Older versions of this Privacy Policy are available on request by emailing support@mycoremems.com.
